Dr. Oruwari has devoted her entire career to helping women deal with a breast cancer diagnosis. As she appreciates the emotional issues that accompany the disease, Dr. Oruwari is deeply committed to employing breast-saving strategies whenever appropriate.

Dr. Oruwari received her medical degree from New Jersey Medical School in Newark, N.J. She completed her internship and residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – University Hospital. During her residency, she focused on breast cancer research. She supplemented her training with a highly specialized Breast Surgery Fellowship at Women and Infants Hospital of Rhode Island – Brown University. The fellowship emphasized benign and oncologic breast problems. She then relocated to St. Louis to join the Mercy Clinic St. Louis Cancer and Breast Institute.

To keep up with the trends in the industry, Dr. Oruwari constantly reads journals for the latest medical information. She also attends CME’s once or twice a year. Dr. Oruwari is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons, American Society of Breast Cancer Surgeons, Society of Surgical Oncology, and Mound City Medical Forum.

Dr. Oruwari participates in community outreach at local YMCAs and churches and speaks regularly about breast cancer.

She is married to Dr. Patrick Oruwari, and they have two young children. Her spare time out of the office is spent with the family. She also enjoys entertaining, cooking, reading, and tennis.
