Dr. Som Bandi is very happy to be part of the Mercy Clinic St. Louis Cancer and Breast Institute’s elite and highly qualified physicians group. The respect the Institute gets from the community is important to him, but the gratification he gets from helping patients and their families is what gives him the most pride.
Dr. Bandi feels his colleagues at the Institute are set apart from others in healthcare by having the maximum possible training in their appropriate fields, with extremely professional care to their patients and a holistic approach.
Dr. Bandi is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and works with the Tumor Board at Des Peres Hospital. To continue his training, he attends national oncology meetings and local review meetings such as the ASCO review and San Antonio Breast Cancer meeting review.
Dr. Bandi says that two things that set the Institute apart from other facilities are the patient-oriented interdisciplinary care under one roof, and timely care (without delay in appointments) with new cancer diagnosis.
One of his patients, after aggressive treatment for more than a year, was able to attend his granddaughter’s college graduation. Memorable patients like this keep him going.
When out of the office, Dr. Bandi likes to keep fit by jogging and working out. He also likes to bike, golf, and spend time with his family.
